For Day 5 Fashionista San Francisco thought we’d take you on a trip to the Great White North with some ice wine and a boutique from our motherland….Oh Canada! Aritzia is one of the few shops in the Westfield San Francisco Center that actually feels like a proper boutique and not a mall when you’re in it. Originally from Vancouver, BC it has few shops here in the US and we are luck enough to have one here is San Francisco! With your favorite brands like Talulah, Wilfred, and Current/Elliott you are guaranteed to find a gem or two to take home. We aren’t sure what our recent obsession with surprise backs is but we LOVE this T.Babaton cashmere blend sweater!! Check out the back on it…soooooo subtly sexy and very ballerina-esque. While we introduce you to an amazing Canadian boutique we thought we’d introduce you to an amazing Canadian specialty wine as well… ice wine. It’s such a special drink and if you are lucky enough to ever see a half bottle you really have to scoop it up. Think of it as a dessert wine and pour in moderation for it’s rich sweetness – it has to be on your foodie bucket list. So here’s the gig: the first frost of the season sirens go off and wake up the winemakers (and all of the other vineyard peeps) and they get out of bed and have to pick the partially frozen grapes before they completely freeze and are ruined. Because of the water in the grapes freezing it concentrates the sugar and creates a rich complex structure that isn’t like anything you’ve ever tasted. Our favorite is Inniskillin (shout out to the family for smuggling it over the border for Xmas!).
Do you have any heritage drinks that you and your family enjoy during the holidays? Comment above and let us know!
xoxo Kris
